The truth, this is the one thing that sin wants to keep you as far away from as it can. The question I hear all the time is, if sin is so powerful then why doesn’t it just kill us, wipe us out? I don’t know why the world works the way it does, but I do know that sin perverts the truth which in itself destroys lives.
To give any substance to the four words that changes lives you first have to acknowledge that out there, out among the stars there is a source much bigger than we are. OK, lets give this source a name, how about GOD – that sounds pretty good. Once we establish this we can start to tap into the wisdom this source provides us for living life on this earth.
Everything is a System
It seems the word System is used frequently to describe how things work. There is the solar system, you have a ecological system, how about the health care system. The problem is systems sometimes get screwed up. Lets take a look at the medical system for example. I’m sure, in the beginning, people practicing medicine had a sincere desire to help others who were sick. Now, the whole system has become perverted, medicine has put profits before people.
What is the Source That Keeps Us Alive?
A lot of what keeps us alive comes from a source much bigger than man. The planet itself is a wonder of creation, the air, the water, gravity, mankind has nothing to do with it’s creation, but without it we wouldn’t be here.
On a smaller scale I awoke one morning to a dead car battery. As the mechanic tested areas of my SUV looking for the problem I scanned that big hunk of metal thinking “how useless this thing is without the battery”. Without a source of power the car became nothing more that a bunch of metal on four tires.
Another time we lost power to the house. Again, I looked around at all the electrical devices thinking how useless they are without a power source.
What We Believe and Think is Very Powerful
It is difficult to lump everyone’s beliefs into one basket. The diversity of background’s and experiences makes this virtually impossible, but lets say for argument sake the majority of people believe in God as a source, lets start from there.
After being ill for several years it came to a point where I had to make a choice. I either yielded to the doctors who wanted me to take six different medications which I would have to take for life, or I go back to my days of christian teachings and see what God has to say about all of this.
I knew the outcome of people who took drugs for long periods of time, it wasn’t good, so the choice was clear. Here are the four words that kept popping up in front of my eyes “Thru Christ I’m Healed“. So, the old man above was saying these four words would unlock the secret to health.
What I discovered was the scope of healing is much wider than health. Most people associate healed with health, In my case I had to tackle one issue at a time. Health was the priority. I decided to walk, jog, run, whatever I could do to start. The first few weeks were so painful, I remember coughing, being so tired I thought I’d collapse, but I kept saying to myself “thru Christ I’m healed”, this didn’t say you will be healed it says you are healed, this means right now.
As time passed those words were my source of strength. In my mind it would either work or I would die trying. Now don’t forget healed applies to finances, relationships, emotional problems, anything that needs healing.
The question for you to answer is, what is your source?
Life’s challenges can hit hard, at times it can seem overwhelming. So, when your battery goes dead, when you feel so drained from problems, where will you go to get a boost? Can I tell you the secret? When change comes you can save yourself a lot of headaches and frustration if you FLOW WITH the change. One more thing, don’t Worry about what you can’t change – use your energy for things you can control.
