Are You a Slave To Sin?

Have you ever stopped to consider how much you are a slave of sin? Many of us don’t even know we are, it just becomes a part of our lives over a period of time.

Sin has many, as it might seem, innocent ways to trap us into that’s the way it is type of thinking. Our days become consumed with financial pressures, relationship stress, health concerns, job fears and many other daily obligations.

Shake Up

There are times when we really get shook up, this means a deep emotional hurt or something that rattles our feelings. We may pay closer attention to things we need to change, but as times passes old habits return.

This is not uncommon, the questions is how can we stop from going back to what we were?

Unfortunately there is no easy answer to this question. Sin is the master of patients. It can wait months or decades to reel you back into it’s web. It has till the end of time to do it’s job, you have till the end of your time to overcome it’s grip.

What to Do

The first thing to think about is commitment. This is a word that gets flung around and then broken to easily these days.

Take one thing you need to change, then make a firm commitment to stick to it. Here’s a question, is your commitment worth dying for? What a crazy thought, but is it?

In recent times I’ve had to put my actions to what I’ve written. My flesh was weak with sickness, but God says “in Jesus I’m healed”. So standing true to what I write and believe, I must overcome the flesh with the spirit.

I can’t deny my body is ill, but I must not let my spirit yield to the flesh. This has allowed me to remain clear minded enough to continue this site and be true to my commitment.

Each of us has our own challenge, the choice of what type of commitment you must make to change is the question. Don’t think for a minute that sin isn’t waiting in the wings to overturn it. You know that your commitment is worth while if your being attacked regularly to break it.

Bottom Line

The bottom line to all of this is, how much are you enslaved to sin? After all this time do you even know that sin is at the center of it? How much do you understand sin?

As I mentioned before sin hopes you never understand it, it want’s you to point your finger and blame everything else. Sin wants to destroy you, but it can’t if you don’t let it.

It works through you thoughts first, then manifests itself with your actions.

The question I leave you with is this , is it really worth it to ignore the fact that something (be it sin or otherwise) is negatively impacting your thinking? Nobody wants to be a slave, especially when it doesn’t have to be that way.

As always the boomerang comes back to us, we have to make the choice, don’t allow sin to make that choice for YOU.
