Is Pride or Vanity in Your Way?

Have you ever considered pride or vanity a sin?

Oh yes it feels good, you like the attention, but what price are you paying ? Maybe financial hardship or it’s fogging your decision making, lets look closer at how this deadly sin called Vanity works.

Personally, I didn’t realize how such an innocent little thing like vanity could do so much damage. I though a little bit of pride was good for you. The problem is it doesn’t stop there, you know as humans we have a trait called Wants. This can lead to greed, gluttony, debt, adultery and much more.

Looking back, the price for this vanity was to high, but this sin called vanity blinded me to what was to follow. I didn’t become honest with myself until the pain was so deep that it hurt beyond words.

So, where are you in this string of events?

What does it take for you to accept that your allowing sin to control your life. The fact might be you like it, I did, even knowing the potential damage it might have in the future.

Sin has a clever way about it, it guides you on a path which seems actually productive and harmless. Then, without warning, things slowly start to turn, it could be your health or your finances or even your relationships start to go sour. By this time your in the loop and it’s very hard to exit, but it doesn’t stop there, the real game is just beginning.

Now comes guilt, the most common thought is “why did you do that, you knew better”. Watch the movie Devils Advocate, it’s primarily based on the word vanity.

You have heard the term in the movie Wall Street used many times Greed is Good, considering it’s a sin, is it? It’s designed to feel good, taste good, forget about who it hurts, but your the one that has to live with it. Oh, don’t forget sin is very good at its job.

Just be honest with yourself, if you know what your doing is wrong, but you think you can handle the consequences when the time comes, I’m here to tell you think again. Do you think sin will let you off the hook so easily?

The aggravating part of all of this is we know what’s happening, but it’s hard to stop. These sins turn into habits, even addictions and then the problem becomes bigger. You may be at the point that your blinded to any other options except to keep doing what your doing.

I’ll be doing my best, if you keep reading this site, to exploit sin and reveal answers on how to overcome this Sin cycle.

I was there, watching the same negative T.V. shows, thinking the same negative thoughts and allowing this to go on week after week. I knew the affects these things had on my life, but continued to dwell in them, this is a sin.

Read the about page, see what a price I’m paying for allowing this sin in my life.

The biggest part of us allowing sin in our lives is just the inherent nature of man/woman. What fuels the fire itself is man making excuses so it’s OK to continue. Oh, we draw the line at murder, rape, theft and the likes, but beyond this we have created justifications for all else and these are the sins that affect us daily.

Unfortunately, a person reading these pages, in most cases, is already enduring a lot of pain and looking for answers. This is OK too, if that’s what it takes then we can work this out.

Just remember, you will be helping yourself by reading more, this will bring you one step closer to our goal Sin No More!!!
