Overcoming the Pain of Sin

You may have heard about the 7 deadly sins, anger, guilt, worry, greed, fear are a few of these sins. When you think about it you will find that one of these seven sins are usually at the core of most of our problems.

I know, as you do, when we’re confronted with problems we tend to get stressed. It could be financial problems, it could be guilt resulting from a circumstance, it could be the fear of losing a job, whatever it is these feelings create emotions and more times than not this is where the pain starts.

Remove the Pain

The first step is to acknowledge the problem, we don’t want to ignore it and say: We don’t have a problem.

The tricks our mind plays with us is very confusing, the first thing that happens is we worry. The thing about worry is it never solves a problem. Worry creates anxiety, stress and more problems. So, what do we do?

As humans it is very hard not to be emotional, we all are subject to emotions. The key to solving problems is knowledge. If you use your time to search for answers you will find that some of the pain will go away by the mere fact that you are not thinking about problem, but you are looking for solutions. This is a positive undertaking that helps every aspect of overcoming pain.

On the other hand you see people opting for other options, some are:

  • Pills
  • Psychiatrists
  • Groups
  • Ignore the Problem
  • Counseling
  • Church

These are all external options, but how many times do we really look for the answer from within?

Religion

Can you really get help from religion?

I struggle with this answer because these days religion has become manipulated to be no different than a business. Being spiritual is suppose to take you to a higher level which releases you from all the burdens and problems we  experience on this earth, but many of the religious programs are always asking for money.

I know, they need money to stay afloat, but when you dig deeper into what is being said are you being sold on donations or are you being told the things that you need?

Do You Need Religion and God?

I do thing we need a place to reach out to when our capacity for understanding has reached its limit.

Pain is a result of this, when we don’t understand what is happening around us or we can’t control it, we experience this flood of pain. Be it emotional, physical or both, it still exists. Many times you will hear someone cry out “God Help Me” this is a cry of pain. So, does it help? Sometimes it does and this is the emotional relief we need to get through hard times.

But, the responsibility eventually circles back to us. If we use the word SIN in the context as an entity that creates negative thoughts, then we can use some of the tools above to counter balance these thoughts. The key word here is WE, WE make that choice to counter balance negative thoughts, we have to search for the tools and answers to our problems. We have to find the solution to our problem using all the knowledge available to us. Then, we can remove the pain that we feel.

Once we find answers we have to move forward, we have to make a commitment to sin no more (or do the best we can) and this will help in the goal of overcoming the pain of sin.

Remember: Worry never solves problems, it creates more problems.
