One of the age old problems for man is sin and sexuality. This leads to the downfall of many a person submitting to one of the 7 deadly sins called adultery.
The Internet and all forms of media before it has allowed both good and bad to use it. Some would say that sexuality is a healthy recreational type of entertainment.
There’s a problem, it never stops at recreation.
What Can Happen
Look at some of the things that can happen when a person is exposed to all the sexual attributes available to us today.
- Sex addiction
- Adultery
- Divorce
- Violence
- Perversion
- Guilt
- Secret fetishes
- Financial destruction
Any of these can bloom from an innocent single seed of sexual exposure. Oh, some will say a person who has a problem in this area would do it anyway.
What we have to answer is, would we give a diabetic a candy bar? Of course not, but with a free to do as we please society how can you protect someone from the onslaught of sexual material?
It Starts at Home
I’m no prude, I have the same curiosity and desires as anyone else. Being in the Internet business I come across videos and pictures daily that shoot pass my eyes. But I have to remind myself of how deadly sin is and at the same time remember how coy it is.
It starts with a game show, then a little less clothing, leading to a thought where you need a little more taste of nudity. You see, sin plants a seed, then lets human nature take over.
Once you understand sin better, you know how it operates. One moment of a good feeling can lead to a lifetime of regret. It seems so innocent, just a quick glance at a sexy picture, what harm is that?
The Downfall
Some of the smartest men, many men that are in powerful positions and people who seem to have it all fall prey to sin and sexuality.
How many priests and pastors can we count on two hands have bowed to this temptation? And these are people that know all about sin and it’s ability to destroy lives, and still let it into their lives.
If there wasn’t a demand for such a thing it wouldn’t be so popular, this is true, but this also shows us what a problem it is in our media driven world.
The Answer
You know what the answer is, it’s making a commitment to understand sin, know the damage it can cause and make a vow to sin no more.
Don’t blame the porno sites, we can’t curse the Internet, these things are here to stay. What you can control is what you look at and what you turn your eyes away from.
Practice overcoming your flesh with a strong, clean spirit. It takes time, but choosing to go the other way will surely lead to problems.
Were all human and we have a sexually curious nature, but we also know the damage this nature can cause loved ones if not kept in check.
