The one thing that sin keeps throwing at you is hopelessness. Anything that seems to bring you hope is immediately countered with a thought of It Won’t Work.
As I mention many times the real center of our problems is in what we think. What you think is heavily influenced by what you see and what you hear.
First Steps
So it makes sense you need to evaluate what your watching and listening to.
If you watching things that make you sad, make you feel bad, then how will you find hope there? If your listening to people that are negative, people with bad attitudes, won’t this make you feel even more hopeless?
We get addicted to these things and don’t even realize what there doing to us.
Other Steps
As mentioned, you have places like depression chat, depression forums, sites like ours to get good information from. If your serious about overcoming depression and reversing hopelessness, then you have to change what your exposing yourself to.
Your mind is a receiver, it processes what it sees. Your thoughts are formed from all you hear and sin makes sure you get an ear full. You don’t need a doctor at $80.00 and hour to figure this out.
Rediscover Hope
When you have lost hope it affects your whole body, physically and mentally. It affects the way you eat, sleep, feel about yourself and your actions towards yourself and others. Lets change this, just by you being here you have shown yourself that you can.
You can look for answers and not all is lost. Keeping you disconnected is the biggest weapon of sin.
If you have to force yourself to stay connected then do it. I know and I recognize that this doesn’t happen all at once. I also know that in some cases a real medical problem causes this weak, hopeless condition, but beyond this there is a whole bunch of people who are trapped.
Adopt an attitude that you don’t like sin and you will change the things that do you harm. These are steps you must take to get back your life.
